Anyone listened to the Tas JJJ winners? not much good I dont think. Dead Abigails are alright. Notice any really good ones from other states?

I have to admit, I totally lost faith in the JJJ unearthed fiasco when they did Sydney a few years ago... Personally, I believe that to say a band like 'Sick Puppies' is the best Sydney has to offer is an idea that is offensive in a way words could never encapsulate...

I can't say that Sick Puppies ever came close to impressing me. Their music has no emotional resonance with my soul!
Radio sucks! Long live my CD collection!
/obligatory: Do you remember lying in bed With your covers pulled up over your head? Radio playin' so no one can see We need change, we need it fast Before rock's just part of the past 'Cause lately it all sounds the same to me Oh oh oh oh, oh oh

Surprisingly considering that he used to be an actor, I thought the lead singer of Sick Puppies had the personality of cardboard the one time I saw them.

ok here goes the story...
back in my old band O.U.D our first rock star experience came when we opened for Sunk Loto at the Northpoint. Not only are they are a killer live band but they are absolutely the most easy going, funny dudes you'd want to open for. We hung out with them from the moment we got there, making fun of each other, stuff like that, it was cool. they watched us play, thanked us during their set and rocked the house. much appreciated.
a year later at the same venue we opened for sick puppies. We went up to them to say hello and have a joke but the singer gave me this look that said "we don't know and don't want to know who you are, please fock off cos i'm an a s s h o l e. i was cool with that, i could handle it, gave me more incentive to outplay and out frontman his a s s. we were supposed to kick off at 8:30 when all of a sudden they started setting up for soundcheck at 7:45. i was like what the fock is happening here. they played about three quarters of their set during sound check until i went to the soundbooth and told the dude to cut them or we were bailing. it left us with ten minutes to set up and tune and get OUR sound right.
It pissed the guy off when i was walking toward the stage and dropped the shoulder into him (hey he saw me coming, he could have moved), it wasn't hard but hard enough to say we don't like each other.
we had about 40% of the crowd that night and we had strong support, were asked to do an encore, which we were about to do when he walked up to the sound guy...don't know what was said, but there was no encore. anyhoo, it turned being a good show but i would never ever play with them again...
basically the guy is a rich little north shore punk who thought he was the s h i t. maybe this makes us sound like d-ickheads aswell but we are nothing in comparison to this prat!!! its a shame coz there drummer and bass player were really nice and supportive.
there you have it!!!
