Oh gawd! I've been asked to bring some Latin or Mexican music to the party because the host assumes that I'm responsible for all of that sort of horrid music played at parties at my place. (All my housemates/flatmates I've ever lived with are foreigners who hang out mainly with foreigners and the South Americans and Central Americans always take over the stereo.)
He also expects it in MP3 format (ie plug laptop to stereo).
I think I'll rip some Ramones, Led Zeppelin and Andrew WK and rename it "Cat Empire". ;D

Haha those bloody foreigners j/k. I thought I was going to get bashed one day because this guy lost his mobile phone and he was sitting next to me. There are heaps of Sudanese and African people here.

I've just finished reading Joe Queenan's "Red Lobster, White Trash and the Blue Lagoon: Joe Queenan's America".
It's a hilariously mean book about how he spent a year experiencing the worst of Popular Culture instead of being the classy snobby p r i c k that he normally is.
He subsequently reviews the entire works of Billy Joel, goes to a Kenny G concert and sees the Gypsy Kings. (He also ends up reading a lot of Joan Collins novels, V.Andrews and Tom Clancy and sees numerous Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.)
OK. Finally me getting to the point. I'm going to try to find something truly awful to bring on Saturday night like the Gypsy Kings. Something that all the locals will recognise as horrible shyte but the others will love to dance to. ;D

I was the only person who showed up. There was a rival party on the same night. I felt so sorry for the guy. A whole bunch of people who confirmed they would come, didn't. The poor guy had about 10 litres of unfinished punch (I was driving so I very reluctantly had two glasses). I ended up being given 2.4 litres to take home. On a happier note, I got to put on whatever music I wanted and saw "Big Trouble in LIttle China" for the first time.
