Last night at the Hoey Jay and the nameless guitarist from Frenzal did a spot under the guise "The Self-Righteous Brothers". It was one of the funniest sets (and one of the most captivated Hoey crowds) I've seen for a while. And with a set that included tracks like
The Last Gay Soldier Left In Iraq EMOsexual and that last track about a woman's too-friendly rel with her loyal dog, you can understand why..
all to a post-folk backing. classic gig.

Yeah I caught most of their set a few weeks ago when they supported Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. I just sat back and listened and had a few drinks and some laughs.
The Hoey would have been fanstatic, so much more intimate. I love that place, a couple of months ago there were so many good gigs there I was there almost twice a week.

Yeah the hoey was great on sunday. there actually weren't that many people there so everyone could comfortably see and listen. t'was very intimate indeed.
guitarist - lindsay (not sure on the spelling) was speaking to him there and said that they had only rehearsed that set a couple of times - they sounded excellent.

And they're selling the Hoey by auction next month too.
