I'm not terribly impressed with their choice of producer. I would have liked to have seen Ted Templeman return.

On the other hand, Bob Rock did produce Metallica's black album and people will point out that he did produce Veruca's 2nd album.

Mmmmm, was kinda hoping they'd get David Lee Roth back, and even this Sammy thing doesn't sound like it's permanent, but whatever, as long as they're playing. Bit worried about Bob Rock producing too after the St Anger 'budget drum sound' thing.

Rumour has it that although VH are free of their contract with the record companies, the record company has control of the name "Van Halen" and won't let them use it without Roth or Hagar.

It's a pity they don't put out an instrumental album. Eddie is famous for saying:
