Is there any way to fix scratches on a guitar's surface? Can they do that at the guitar shop?

that's right...
while on tour with incubus i went to pick up my guitar case, but 'someone' hadn't done up the guitar case, so when i picked it up, my guitar rolled on out and landed on the concrete floor with a nice big thud. youch.
so it it has a bit chip out of the paint and a couple of scratches on in now, but it's ok, cos it's just a battle wound. (it was moments before going on at the entertainment centre).
needless to say, i was very distressed at the time...

If you can't polish it out try using super-fine emery to paper get it out without going through the clearcoat. If it's down through the clearcoat you'll have to go to a tech/guitar luthier so they can rub back further and colour match and then re-do the clear coat. OR, you could just leave it
