I just got back from The Acoustic Lounge at the Manning Bar.
it was excellent. Cheap entry: free (SU students) and $6 for us normal people. ;D
They arrange a whole bunch of lounge around the dance floor which is tops.
I stayed for 3.5 acts.
Melanie Hornshell (sp?) was really good.
Laura Imbruglia had some really good new songs and the crowd loved her. I'm guessing a lot of people were seeing her for the first time. Her song about dreaming of a magic washing that plays music was great.
I enjoyed Sandrine (well, I think half of the band). The pair seem like an excellent mismatch. The electric guitarist seems to go between awesome etheral dreampop to simple rock chords (it reminds me of The Horse) ;D. The lead singer was okay on acoustic guitar but her piano stuff worked well with guitarist.
I didn't really pay attention to the last guy.
I ended up playing Aliens Vs Predator (yeah, I'm fighting aliens again) and Frogger.
