One of the other threads went into cool details of people's weekends...
Thought I'd do mine for now. It was a four day long weekend, as it included both yesterday and today (Melbourne Cup holiday for Victoria).
Friday night - Guitar tech'd Space Like Alice who played to a nice full crowd at the Rob Roy in Fitzroy.
Saturday night - Went to my friend Martin's house. He's 25 and engaged to a Swedish girl. They're going to marry in Hawaii in a week then move to Sweden. Last I'll see of him for a few years. Played and lost Scattegories but won in Pictionary.
Sunday night - Went to bed early because...
Monday Day- At 2am left for Canberra lol. Went to check out Pro Audio (best music shop) and get some fireworks. Too cool.
Returned back soon after to Melbourne to see Pacifier play at the Esplanda/Espy. Got myself a job with mates and opening act The Fallouts. They had all manner of troubles so I guess I was in the right place at the right time for them.
As a result I also met one of my mega-heroes, Mr Jon Toogood and his bandmates. They played probably the best show by a non-US band this year (I only say that cos I've seen some corker US ones in 2003). But yeah the crowd were off and new every word. Jon played 75% of it in only his jocks too.
Tuesday night - Just saw Fur Patrol do the Esplanade too. Fine band. Both times Degrees K were support and they go pretty well as well.
I'm tired, but its only a 3 workday week thankfully.
